Eurobus Public transport

We keep the service public in Switzerland running smoothly

You award the contract, EUROBUS runs it: as a licensed operator in its own right or on behalf of cantons, cities, transport companies and PostBus, with drivers whom EUROBUS trains and develops itself, in the regions of Aargau, Bern, Biel/Bienne, Eastern Switzerland, Central Switzerland and Zurich.

Only a few private companies in Switzerland are permitted to provide transport services in public transport. EUROBUS is one of them: it runs bus routes as a licensed operator in its own right and drives on behalf of licensed operators such as PostBus. On top of that come company transport, for example shuttle services for employees, and rail replacement services for SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) and other railway companies. For you as the client, that means one partner for scheduled services, company transport and rail replacement.

Awards: public tender on simap.ch or invitation procedure

EUROBUS wins contracts in public transport through public tenders, for example on the simap.ch platform, and to a small extent through the invitation procedure. For this reason, there is no booking or quotation request via the website, but there is a direct contact person.

Invite EUROBUS to submit a quotation or talk to Patrick Nussbaumer, Managing Director, Public Transport, beforehand, telephone +41 44 444 14 40. You can reach the people responsible in the regions directly: Contact.

Frequently asked questions

Who does EUROBUS operate for in public transport?

EUROBUS operates for the canton of Aargau (Regionalbus Lenzburg), the canton of Lucerne (Rottal Auto AG), the city of Kreuzlingen (Stadtbus Kreuzlingen), PostBus in the regions of Bern, Eastern Switzerland and Central Switzerland, the Biel/Bienne public transport company (Verkehrsbetriebe Biel), the Verkehrsbetriebe Glattal (VBG) and ETH Zurich (Science City Link).

Is EUROBUS a licensed operator itself?

Yes. EUROBUS runs public transport routes as a licensed operator and drives on behalf of licensed operators. In Biel/Bienne, for example, Funicar AG operates a route as a licensed operator in its own right.

Can we invite EUROBUS directly to submit a quotation?

Yes. Besides public tenders, for example on simap.ch, clients award a small share of their contracts through the invitation procedure. Your contact for this is Patrick Nussbaumer, Managing Director, Public Transport.

Does EUROBUS train bus drivers for scheduled routes?

Yes. The EUROBUS driving school offers, among other things, a 4-week intensive course for category D. Find out more about working on scheduled routes under Drivers & careers.
