Locations and contacts in six regions

EUROBUS runs public transport in six regions of Switzerland and rail replacement services nationwide. For each region, you can see which contracts EUROBUS operates there, with routes, vehicles, passengers and kilometres, and who you can reach directly on site.

In Biel/Bienne, Eastern Switzerland, Central Switzerland and Zurich, you can reach the people responsible for public transport directly on site. The figures show the scale on which EUROBUS runs services there for cantons, cities, transport companies and PostBus.

Aargau: Regionalbus Lenzburg

On behalf of the canton of Aargau, Regionalbus Lenzburg (RBL) runs 11 routes, including 3 night bus routes, with 28 vehicles. That is 3.1 million passengers and 1.9 million km per year. Switzerland’s first hybrid bus on a scheduled route entered service in Lenzburg in 2007.

Bern: PostBus routes Erlach and Krauchthal

On behalf of PostBus Region Bern, EUROBUS runs:

  • PostBus routes in the Erlach area: 3 routes, 4 vehicles, 360,000 km per year
  • PostBus route Bolligen – Krauchthal – Hindelbank: 1 route, 1 vehicle, 136,000 km per year

Biel/Bienne: Funicar AG

On behalf of the Biel/Bienne transport company (Verkehrsbetriebe Biel), Funicar AG runs 3 routes, and as a licensed operator in its own right 1 route, with 7 vehicles in total and 550,000 km per year. It also drives on behalf of PostBus in the “Plateau de Diesse” region. For schools and municipalities, over 80 vehicles are in school bus service in the Biel/Bienne region.

Eastern Switzerland: Arbon, St. Gallen and Kreuzlingen

EUROBUS Ostschweiz AG runs:

  • PostBus routes Arbon – St. Gallen – Goldach – Rheineck on behalf of PostBus Eastern Switzerland: 7 routes, 34 vehicles, 2.75 million passengers and 1.35 million km per year
  • Stadtbus Kreuzlingen on behalf of the city of Kreuzlingen: 6 routes, 10 vehicles
  • School transport for various clients such as schools and municipalities: 15 school buses for 10 clients

Central Switzerland: Rottal Auto AG and the Sursee area

  • Rottal Auto AG on behalf of the canton of Lucerne: 9 routes plus 2 night network routes, 29 vehicles, 3 million passengers and 2.4 million km per year
  • PostBus routes in the Sursee area on behalf of PostBus Central Switzerland: 4 routes plus 2 night network routes, 12 vehicles, 1.3 million passengers and 1.2 million km
  • School transport for various clients such as schools and municipalities: 11 clients, 34 vehicles, 0.3 million km
