MoPi: disability, school and patient transport

When a child needs more than a seat: for over twenty years, MoPi.ch AG has taken children and young people with special needs to school, with a permanent team, staff trained in medical and nursing care, and the right equipment. Like EUROBUS, MoPi belongs to the Knecht Group.

MoPi.ch AG specialises in disability, school and patient transport. For the journey to school, MoPi has its own specialist department: for over twenty years it has run school transport for children with single or multiple mental and/or physical disabilities. The top priorities are the safety of the children and the satisfaction of parents, schools, teachers and municipalities. MoPi school transport operates around Lake Zurich, in Aargau and in Bern.

School transport for children with special needs

  • Always the same team

Every route has a permanent team that knows the children, and a trained substitute for holidays and sickness. That means no settling-in period in the middle of the school year.
  • The right equipment

ramp or tail lift, crash-tested wheelchair restraints, seat shells and, on request, an escort. MoPi clarifies what a route requires before it quotes.
  • One price for the school year

a flat rate per route and school year instead of billing per journey. The budget is fixed before the school year begins, even if the number of children travelling changes.
  • Documents for tender submissions

MoPi supplies references, a vehicle list, proof of insurance, criminal record extracts for the drivers, the IVR certification OMS S3/S4 and the ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates of the Eurobus Group within a few days.

Trained specialist staff, schooled in emergency response every year

The team consists of qualified nurses (HF/FH), healthcare specialists (FaGe), transport paramedics with a federal professional certificate and transport specialists. MoPi only hires staff who have completed a suitable professional training. Every year, the group’s in-house ambulance service for north-western Switzerland (Rettungsdienst Nordwestschweiz) gives the entire workforce further training in emergency response, including defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

IVR certification S3 and S4 and ISO 9001/14001

MoPi.ch AG is certified to the OMS standard of the Interverband für Rettungswesen (IVR, the Swiss inter-association for rescue services), at levels S3 and S4. The whole operation is audited: staff training, condition and equipment of the vehicles, hygiene, dispatching and documentation of every transport. S3 covers the transport of patients who need care, S4 qualified patient transport with medical monitoring. As part of the Eurobus Group, MoPi is also certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

MoPi is not an ambulance service: it carries planned, pre-booked transport for people whose condition is stable. In a medical emergency, call the emergency number 144.
