Safety on board

Seat belts
all EUROBUS coaches have seat belts, and wearing them is compulsory. On board, EUROBUS shows a film about its safety standards.
Assistance systems
a large number of the vehicles have lane assist, adaptive cruise control and a driver attention assistant.
Drivers
they are properly trained, regularly attend internal and external safety and driving courses as well as further training, and undergo the medical checks required by law at regular intervals.
Driving and rest times
EUROBUS complies with the Swiss ordinance on working and rest hours for professional drivers (ARV). The digital tachograph in every coach records the journeys and is regularly checked by the authorities.
Speed
coaches may travel at a maximum of 100 km/h in Switzerland. An automatic speed limiter holds the engine back to the permitted top speed.
Maintenance
the cantonal road traffic office carries out a technical inspection of the coaches once a year.
Operating licence
EUROBUS holds the licence of the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) for commercial cross-border passenger transport by coach.
Emergencies
the on-call service can be reached around the clock. In the event of a major incident, EUROBUS sets up a crisis team and works with the Travel Helpdesk of Allianz Insurance, which looks after relatives in exceptional situations.

You can read about how you are insured on the coach under Travel information.
