EUROBUS has been a member of the Swiss Travel Industry Guarantee Fund since the fund was founded. The money you pay for your trip is 100% protected there; this means EUROBUS complies with the provisions of the Swiss Package Travel Act. Travel companies bearing the Travel Guarantee logo guarantee you:
You can therefore pay the invoice for your trip without worry. If a tour operator becomes insolvent during your holiday, the guarantee fund arranges your journey home.
The guarantee fund was set up as an independent foundation by the Swiss Travel Association (SRV). The participating Swiss and Liechtenstein organisers and agents of package tours meet the foundation’s requirements for professional competence and solvency. You will find the current list of all members at www.garantiefonds.ch. You can also get information from the Swiss Travel Industry Guarantee Fund in Zurich on +41 44 488 10 70.
To protect you against unforeseen events, cancellation cover is compulsory for all trips. EUROBUS also recommends “Assistance” travel incident insurance, which covers the cost of a return journey due to illness or accident. The cost of cancellation cover depends on the trip price. You will find descriptions of the insurance benefits in the PDF documents; if you have any questions, our travel advisers will be happy to help on 0848 000 212.
For flight bookings and sea voyages (Hurtigruten, ocean cruises), the following costs apply to cancellation cover and travel incident insurance:
Abroad, you can buy goods duty-free up to certain allowances and value limits. They apply to private goods that you carry personally for your own use or as gifts, and are granted only once per person per day.
The allowances apply only to persons aged 17 or over.
Other private goods are duty-free up to a total value of CHF 150 per person. If the total value of the goods you carry exceeds CHF 150, duty is payable on all goods. The value limits of several people may not be added together. Sensitive agricultural products such as meat and meat products, dairy products, oils and fats are excluded from the value limit if they exceed certain maximum quantities.
For logistical reasons, you cannot have your VAT refund receipts stamped at German customs on your return journey to Switzerland. Customs clearance at Swiss customs is not possible either.
With the EUROBUS service app, you have your booking and travel documents on your smartphone at all times. The data is stored on the device, so you can access it abroad without roaming charges. The app is available for iPhone and Android; you can download the iPhone version from the App Store.
