Aachen - Maastricht and the Royal Opera in Liège

In Aachen you will see Mozart's 'Don Giovanni', and in Liège Donizetti's 'Roberto Devereux' at the magnificent Royal Opera House. A visit to the charming city of Maastricht, interesting guided city tours and a stylish stay at the traditional Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen complement these musical highlights.
Day 1: Switzerland – Aachen
Journey to Aachen. On arrival, check in at the traditional Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen, an elegant grand hotel close to the historic old town. In the evening, enjoy a shared dinner at the hotel and get into the mood for the coming days of travel in stylish surroundings.
Day 2: Aachen & Opera
In the morning, a guided city tour takes you through Aachen’s history of over 2,000 years and its historic old town. Afterwards you have free time at your leisure. In the late afternoon, a refined opera aperitif with warm and cold delicacies awaits you at the hotel. Then transfer to the theatre to see Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’.
Day 3: Excursion to Maastricht
Excursion to neighbouring Maastricht. On a guided city tour, you discover the charming old town with the Stokstraat quarter, the old fortifications and the famous Vrijthof. Afterwards, enjoy a light lunch. Return to Aachen and free evening.
Day 4: Excursion to Liège & Opera
Drive to Liège and city sightseeing, including the spectacular Liège-Guillemins railway station and the church of St. Barthélemy with its famous baptismal font. After lunch at the restaurant of the Royal Opera, you will experience Donizetti’s ‘Roberto Devereux’. Afterwards, return to Aachen.
Day 5: Aachen - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland. Take a moment to relive the musical and cultural experiences of the past few days.
The 4* sup. Parkhotel Quellenhof is one of Aachen’s most renowned addresses. The hotel lies quietly by the Kurpark, just a few minutes’ walk from the old town.
