When the mist drifts gently over the canals and the lights on the bridges sparkle, Amsterdam shows its most romantic side. Discover the Dutch capital away from the crowds: peaceful, atmospheric and unforgettable.
Day 1: Switzerland - Amsterdam
Travel from Switzerland to the Dutch capital. After arriving at the hotel, you will be welcomed to a first dinner together.
Day 2: Amsterdam
On a coach tour of the city, you will discover Amsterdam beyond the familiar postcard views: modern architecture, innovative residential districts and the historic Rembrandt Windmill. In the afternoon, the Anne Frank House is on the programme: the hidden annexe where the Jewish girl lived with her family for almost two years still moves every visitor deeply.
Day 3: Amsterdam
A canal cruise takes you through the city's historic network of waterways, past narrow gabled houses and old bridges. In the afternoon, the Rijksmuseum opens its doors: over 8,000 exhibits tell the story of the golden age of Dutch painting, including Rembrandt's Night Watch and Vermeer's masterpieces. Free time to stroll the lanes or enjoy a coffee by the canal rounds off the day.
Day 4: Zaanse Schans - Volendam - Marken
A varied excursion takes you into the rural countryside. In Zaanse Schans, genuine windmills still turn above green meadows, and charming wooden houses bear witness to past centuries. In Volendam, you visit a cheese dairy with tasting and watch how the traditional clogs are made in a wooden clog workshop. To finish, Marken awaits: a picturesque peninsula with colourful wooden houses that looks especially enchanting in the winter light. Dinner is served at the hotel.
Day 5: Amsterdam - Switzerland
After breakfast, return journey to Switzerland.
The 4* Hotel Mijdrecht Marickenland lies peacefully in the greenery, just a short drive from the centre of Amsterdam. The rooms are comfortably furnished and offer all the amenities for a restful night after eventful days in the city. If unavailable, an equivalent hotel will be provided.
