Day 1: Switzerland – Diano Marina

The journey crosses the Great St Bernard Pass to Aosta, a historic town at the foot of the Alpine pass. Of great importance in Roman times, numerous monuments still bear witness to this today, including the Porta Praetoria, the Arch of Augustus and the Roman Theatre of Aosta. After an independent lunch break, the journey continues towards the Mediterranean coast. In the evening you arrive in the holiday resort of Diano Marina on the Riviera dei Fiori, known for its long-established flower cultivation and colourful coastal landscapes.

Day 2: Sanremo & Dolceacqua

Sanremo impresses with palm-lined promenades and Mediterranean flair. Continuing along the coast, the route leads to Isolabona, where a Ligurian lunch is served at an agriturismo. In the afternoon, we head into the charming hinterland of the Riviera dei Fiori. The picturesque town of Dolceacqua lies on the banks of a small river and is dominated by an impressive castle ruin.

Day 3: Monaco & Monte Carlo

Today’s excursion follows the famous Mediterranean coast of the Côte d’Azur to the city-state of Monaco. A guided walk through the historic old town offers lovely views of the harbour and the Mediterranean, as well as the Prince’s Palace high above the city. Afterwards, there is time for independent exploration of the elegant district of Monte Carlo, known for its well-kept gardens, luxury boutiques and the famous Casino de Monte-Carlo.

Day 4: Rapallo & Portofino

Today offers the opportunity to relax in Diano Marina or to join the optional excursion to the charming coast of Liguria. The route first goes to Rapallo, a lively coastal town on the Gulf of Tigullio, with a pleasant seafront promenade and an attractive townscape. Next, a boat trip takes you to Santa Margherita Ligure, known for its elegant villas and palm-lined squares, with time for an independent lunch break. Then continue by boat to Portofino, where you can explore the idyllic harbour, the colourful houses and magnificent views of the Mediterranean on a stroll.
