Cruise aboard the Costa Toscana
Christmas done differently: instead of cold and hustle, you can look forward to mild temperatures, Mediterranean charm and festive tranquillity on the high seas. This special cruise takes you in elegant surroundings to historic coastal cities that come into their own at Christmastime.
Day 1: Switzerland - Savona
Travel to Savona. You check into your cabin and can explore the ship. At 17.30 h the call goes out: "Cast off!" and the ship sets sail.
Day 2: Marseille
To get a full impression of the beauty of Marseille's Old Town, we recommend a stroll to Rue du Panier, just east of the Vieux Port. Green plants, antique shop signs and wonderful restaurants make the Old Town what it is. Equally lovely is the "Vieux Port", which translates as the Old Port of Marseille. It is the heart of Marseille, and along the harbour wall there are many cafés and bars. (Arrival 09.00 h / Departure 18.00 h)
Day 3: Barcelona
Enjoy an exciting day in Barcelona. A highlight of Barcelona is the monumental Sagrada Família church, located in the l'Eixample district. Construction of the church has been under way for 140 years. Another "must see" is Park Güell, the city's most famous park, adorned with thousands of mosaic tiles. (Arrival 09.00 h / Departure 19.00 h)
23.30 - 00.30 h On the high seas, at the darkest point of the Balearic Sea, you will see the sky and the stars as never before. The captain will guide you through this extraordinary experience. On the outer decks you will discover the secrets of the heavens and look up to admire planets and constellations. To identify them more easily, download the free Stellarium app.
Day 4: Palma de Mallorca
Palma is the lively capital of Mallorca, known for its impressive Gothic cathedral La Seu, which towers above the harbour, and for its charming Old Town with narrow lanes, historic buildings and cosy cafés.

Day 5: At sea
Take some time out and relax at the Solemio Beauty Spa, or enjoy an Aperol Spritz on Deck 16 with a wonderful view of the sea. Every evening in the theatre, spectacular shows await you: musicals, comedy shows, acrobats, games and much more.
Day 6: Palermo
Palermo is the capital of Sicily, known for its fascinating blend of Arab, Norman and Baroque influences, reflected in magnificent churches, palaces and historic markets. (Arrival 08.00 h / Departure 16.30 h)
Day 7: Civitavecchia/ Rome
From the old port of Civitavecchia you reach the heart of Roman and Etruscan civilisation. (Arrival 08.30 h / Departure 19.00 h)
Day 8: Savona - Switzerland
In the morning you arrive back in Savona. Return journey to Switzerland.
