In December, countless strings of lights bathe the wonderful Old Town in festive splendour. Day 1: Switzerland - Heidelberg
Journey via Basel - Freiburg to Heidelberg. Arrival at approx. 13:30. Take your time to stroll through the picturesque old town with its narrow lanes and slender houses. Heidelberg is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. The harmonious ensemble of castle, old town and river nestled among the hills inspired the poets and painters of the Romantic era and still fascinates visitors from around the world today. Enjoy the charming atmosphere and the appealing range on offer. Roasted almonds, mulled wine and bratwurst, as well as handcrafted gift ideas, whet your appetite for a leisurely walk across the many large and small squares of the Heidelberg Christmas market.
Day 2: Heidelberg (3-day tour)

Days 2 / 3: Heidelberg - Switzerland
Spend the morning browsing in one of Europe's most beautiful pedestrian zones. 13:30 Return journey via Karlsruhe - Freiburg back to Switzerland.
Shopping in Heidelberg
The pedestrian zone has department stores, specialist shops and boutiques. In recent years, many interesting shops have also opened around Bismarckplatz and along Bergheimer Strasse. A detour over the bridge to the Neuenheim district is worthwhile, with a stroll along the lively Brückenstrasse.
