The most romantic musical event of the year
Experience an unforgettable evening with André Rieu at his "Christmas in My Hometown" concert. As soon as you enter the magnificent hall, a landscape straight out of a winter fairy tale will put you in the festive mood.
Day 1: Switzerland - Bonn
Outward journey via Basel and Strasbourg to Speyer. Individual lunch break and onward journey to Bonn. Room check-in and dinner.
Day 2: André Rieu concert
Around midday, travel to Maastricht. You will have plenty of time to explore the lovely old town at your own pace. Maastricht - Europe's smallest metropolis and the culinary capital of the Netherlands - offers many churches, historic buildings, hidden lanes and large squares.
In the evening, enjoy the magnificent concert by André Rieu. Few violinists manage to captivate such a broad audience and fill concert halls like the Dutchman. Be enchanted by a splendid palace with a red carpet, Venetian chandeliers, Christmas scenes, snow, two ice rinks and beautiful winter landscapes. On arrival, a brass band playing wonderful Christmas music and actors in Charles Dickens costumes will welcome you and set the mood for the three-hour Christmas concert. Splendid carols, romantic waltzes and beautiful songs from around the world, such as Jingle Bells, Ave Maria, O Holy Night, Hallelujah, Sleigh Ride and many more, will immerse you in the festive atmosphere. A unique Christmas experience at the MECC event hall in Maastricht.
Day 3: Optional Cologne
Optional: Trip to festive Cologne. Cologne offers numerous Christmas markets, including the famous one at Cologne Cathedral, the "Heimat der Heinzel" market in the Old Town and the harbour Christmas market by the Chocolate Museum. Alternatively, the day is yours to spend freely in Bonn.
Day 4: Bonn - Switzerland
Drive to Heidelberg. Free time in Heidelberg, followed by the return journey to Switzerland.
You stay at the centrally located 4* Best Western Hotel President (official national category) in the popular Bonn district of Poppelsdorf. It is just a few minutes from the lively city centre and the University of Bonn.
All rooms are comfortably furnished and feature a bath or shower/WC, TV, Wi-Fi and minibar. Equivalent hotel if unavailable.
