Pearls of the Mediterranean
Look forward to a journey that brings the beauty and variety of the Mediterranean vividly to life. The Costa Smeralda offers you stylish surroundings, culinary highlights and plenty of opportunities to relax, while you discover some of the most characteristic places in this fascinating region.
Travel to Genoa. You will check into your cabin and can explore the ship. At 17.00h it is time to "cast off" and the ship sets sail.
To get a comprehensive impression of the beauty of Marseille's old town, we recommend a visit to the Rue du Panier, located not far from the eastern side of the Vieux Port. Green plants, antique shop signs and wonderful restaurants make the old town what it is. Equally lovely is the "Vieux Port", which translates as the Old Port of Marseille. It is the heart of Marseille, and along the harbour mole there are many cafés and bars (arrival 09.00h / departure 18.00h).
Enjoy an exciting day in Barcelona. A highlight of Barcelona is the monumental church Sagrada Família, located in the l'Eixample district. Construction of the church has been under way for 140 years. Another "must see" is Park Güell, the most famous city park. It is decorated with thousands of mosaic tiles (arrival 08.00h / departure 18.00h).
Take some time out and relax at the Solemio Beauty Spa, or enjoy an Aperol Spritz on Deck 18 with a wonderful view of the sea. Every evening in the theatre, spectacular shows await you: musicals, comedy shows, acrobats, games and much more.
South of Sardinia, in the Gulf of Angels, Cagliari, a splendid city of Carthaginian origin, offers insights into its Roman, Spanish and Savoyard past (arrival 07.00h / departure 16.00h).
The city of Naples offers an exciting mix of history, art and culinary delights. From the harbour you enjoy a breathtaking view of Vesuvius, which dominates the skyline, and of the coastline along the Gulf of Naples. Food plays a central role in Naples, where pizza was invented, so be sure to treat yourself to an authentic Neapolitan pizza (arrival 08.30h / departure 17.00h).
From the old harbour of Civitavecchia you reach the heart of Roman and Etruscan civilisation (arrival 08.00h / departure 18.30h).
In the morning you return to Genoa. Return journey to Switzerland.
