Day 1: Switzerland - Lake Garda

The journey crosses the Reschen Pass and runs through the vast fruit-growing region of the Vinschgau. Continuing via the Brenner Motorway, you reach the northern shore of Lake Garda and Torbole sul Garda. This town lies nestled between Monte Baldo to the east and the Sarca plain to the north, and is particularly popular with windsurfers. Torbole was once a small fishing village. The little harbour, with its old customs house and the Beust House, is the most picturesque spot in Torbole. Goethe was already deeply impressed by Torbole. He described the wind as a magnificent natural phenomenon and a fascinating natural spectacle. Goethe's enthusiastic descriptions inspired numerous young painters and poets over the following centuries to include Torbole on Lake Garda on their study tours of Italy.

Day 2: Limone and Malcesine

A boat takes you from Riva del Garda to Limone, "where the lemons bloom". The village lies sheltered from the wind in a beautiful bay, surrounded by gardens, olive groves and citrus plantations. After a stroll, you continue by boat to Malcesine. You walk to the crenellated castle and through the cobbled lanes. The return journey to Torbole is also by water.

Day 3: Trentino Castles & Lakes

(Optional) Discover the magnificent lake country of Trentino. You begin at the turquoise Lago di Tenno, a slice of the Caribbean in the mountains. Other fantastic photo opportunities include the romantic water castle on Lago di Toblino, the majestic Drena Castle and the ruins on the castle rock of Arco. A grappa tasting brings this wonderful day to a close.

Day 4: Verona and Bardolino

You visit Verona, the magnificent city of Romeo and Juliet. The spacious squares of the old town, the historic Renaissance palaces, the Romanesque and Gothic churches and, of course, the Arena di Verona will inspire you. On the afternoon return journey, you drive through the beautiful Bardolino wine region, where a wine tasting awaits you at a country estate. Afterwards, you travel back along the eastern shore of Lake Garda to the hotel.

Day 5: Lake Garda - Switzerland

Return journey to Switzerland.
