Dresden - A Musical Advent Enchantment
La Bohème & The Nutcracker or Advent Concert
Dresden enchants visitors at Advent with its baroque backdrop, festive splendour and grand music theatre. Experience Puccini's masterpiece "La Bohème" at the Semperoper, a highlight of the operatic repertoire. In addition, you may choose between Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" at the Semperoper or the "Advent Concert" with the Residenz Orchestra in the Dresden Zwinger. Cultural pleasure in a festive atmosphere.
Day 1: Switzerland – Dresden
Journey to Dresden. During the trip, your music expert will prepare you with fascinating insights into the forthcoming performances. Check-in at the hotel directly next to the Frauenkirche in the heart of the city. Shared dinner in the evening.
Day 2: Dresden & Performances
In the morning you explore the Dresden Old Town with its world-famous sights. An organ prelude in the Frauenkirche atmospherically rounds off the experience. The afternoon is at your free disposal, for your own discoveries or a little rest. In the evening you may choose between two festive highlights: Tchaikovsky’s ballet "The Nutcracker" at the Semperoper or the "Advent Concert" with the Dresden Residenz Orchestra at the Zwinger.
Day 3: Dresden & Opera
In the Residenzschloss, the Green Vault presents the spectacular treasure chamber of Augustus the Strong. In faithfully reconstructed rooms, the splendour of the Baroque unfolds, rich in gold, precious gems and exquisite craftsmanship. A free afternoon for winter discoveries: stroll through the festively decorated Striezel Market, enjoy Saxon specialities or let the Baroque charm of the Old Town enchant you. Before the performance, we invite you to an aperitif with delicacies from kitchen and cellar. Afterwards you attend Giacomo Puccini’s famous opera "La Bohème" at the splendid Semperoper. Grand opera in a unique setting.
Day 4: Dresden – Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
The elegant 5* Hotel Townhouse is located in the heart of the city, directly opposite the Frauenkirche.
