Spectacular Scenic Routes Rediscovered
Here, the journey is the destination: you discover the most impressive landscapes of southern Norway on breathtaking panoramic roads, venture deep into the fjords and climb high into the fjells, from the seashore to the glaciers, exploring charming villages and enchanting towns. Accompanied by an expert and passionate lover of Scandinavia, you will visit not only the most famous sights but also lesser-known, more hidden gems. The vibrant capital Oslo entices with historic landmarks and cutting-edge architecture.
Travel past Frankfurt to Hamburg.
Drive to the Danish border. In the evening, embark on the state-of-the-art Fjord Line cruise ferry.
Enjoy a morning cruise along the Norwegian west coast. Guided city tour of Bergen. This magnificently situated Hanseatic and harbour city exudes an incomparable atmosphere.
A day full of highlights (optional). You travel by the Bergen Railway up onto the Hardangervidda to Myrdal at 865 m, where you board the spectacular Flåm Railway, which descends in just 20 km through the narrow mountain valley to the seashore at Flåm. This is followed by a boat trip through the Nærøyfjord, surrounded by mountains up to 1,800 metres high and considered the narrowest fjord in the world.
In the morning the journey leads through the mountains to the ice masses of the Jostedalsbreen. You take a scenic walk to the glacier lake. The afternoon treats you to a wonderful boat trip through the famous Geirangerfjord.
The next highlight almost takes your breath away: on the Eagle Road you enjoy another airy view of the Geirangerfjord, and over the legendary Trollstigen you descend through eleven daring hairpin bends down to the sea. Spread across several islands lies the picturesque Art Nouveau town of Ålesund, the most beautiful town in the country.
By ferry you reach the Rose City of Molde. On the spectacular Atlantic Road you seem to glide directly over the sea as it sweeps elegantly across seven bridges from island to island. The town of Kristiansund stretches across four idyllic islands.
Coach journey to Trondheim. A thousand years ago this was the capital of Norway; today it is a modern city with the charm of bygone days. The old town enchants with its wooden merchants' and warehouses, the romantic bridge and the visible Nidaros Cathedral.
You travel along the old "King's Road" through the Dovrefjell to Dombås, marvel at Ringebu in the Gudbrandsdal, where one of the few remaining stave churches, so typical of Norway, still stands, pass the Olympic village of Lillehammer and follow the shore of Lake Mjøsa to Oslo. Arguably the most pleasant capital city in Europe, Oslo lies beautifully amid greenery, is easy to explore and generously laid out with many parks.
City tour of Oslo. In the afternoon, enjoy the journey through the 70 km long Oslofjord aboard a luxury ship. Culinary delights await you in 12 different restaurants and bars. Whether gourmet menu, buffet feast, tapas, sushi, pizza, pasta or burgers, there is something on board the Color Line for every taste.
