Spectacular scenic routes, rediscovered
Here the journey is the destination: you discover the most impressive landscapes of southern Norway on breathtaking scenic routes, venture deep into the fjords and climb high into the fells, from the seashore up to the glaciers, exploring dreamy villages and charming towns. Accompanied by an expert and passionate lover of Scandinavia, you will visit not only the most famous sights but also lesser-known, hidden gems. The vibrant capital Oslo entices with historic landmarks and cutting-edge architecture.
Flight from Zurich to Bergen. Transfer to the hotel and free time.
Enjoy a morning cruise along the Norwegian west coast. Guided city tour of Bergen. The beautifully situated Hanseatic and harbour city exudes an incomparable atmosphere.
A day full of highlights (optional). You travel by the Bergen Railway up to Myrdal at 865 m on the Hardangervidda, to board the spectacular Flåm Railway, which descends in just 20 km through the narrow mountain valley to the seashore at Flåm. A cruise follows through the Nærøyfjord, surrounded by mountains up to 1,800 metres high and considered the narrowest fjord in the world.
In the morning the journey leads through the mountains to the ice masses of the Jostedalsbreen. You take a scenic walk to the glacier lake. The afternoon treats you to a magnificent cruise through the famous Geirangerfjord.
The next highlight almost takes your breath away: on the Eagle Road you enjoy another airy view over the Geirangerfjord, and via the legendary Trollstigen you descend to the sea in eleven daring hairpin bends. Spread over several islands lies the picturesque Art Nouveau town of Ålesund, the most beautiful town in the country.
By ferry you reach the rose town of Molde. On the spectacular Atlantic Road you seem to glide right over the sea as it sweeps elegantly across seven bridges from island to island. The town of Kristiansund spreads across four idyllic islands.
Coach journey to Trondheim. A thousand years ago this was the capital of Norway; today it is a modern city with the charm of bygone times. The old town enchants with its wooden merchants' houses and warehouses, the romantic bridge and the Nidaros Cathedral in view.
You travel along the old "King's Road" through the Dovrefjell to Dombås, marvel at one of the few surviving stave churches, typical of Norway, in Ringebu in the Gudbrandsdal valley, pass the Olympic village of Lillehammer and follow the shore of Lake Mjøsa to Oslo. The probably most pleasant major city in Europe lies beautifully surrounded by greenery, is easy to explore and generously laid out with many parks.
