Hamburg - Elbphilharmonie and State Opera
Opera ‘Carmen’ & a Grand Concert at the Elbphilharmonie
Experience the musical highlights of Hamburg: stay overnight at the luxurious Hotel The Westin in the Elbphilharmonie, enjoy Dvořák’s resonant 8th Symphony in this architectural masterpiece, and see Bizet’s famous opera ‘Carmen’ at the Hamburg State Opera. You will also discover Hamburg’s unique maritime charm and the special atmosphere of this Hanseatic city.
Day 1: Switzerland – Hamburg
Travel to Hamburg in the Car Rouge. Dinner incl. drinks and overnight stay at the 5* Hotel The Westin, right in the Elbphilharmonie. We have booked the beautiful Deluxe rooms with spectacular city or harbour views for you.
Day 2: Hamburg & Opera
On a sightseeing tour you can sit back and relax while soaking up some of the unrivalled charm of this historic merchant city. See Hamburg's highlights up close: St Michael's Church (the Michel), the Inner and Outer Alster lakes and the harbour. The harbour cruise ends early afternoon. Free time afterwards. Dinner and performance at the State Opera.
Day 3: Excursion to Lübeck
The excursion first takes you to the traditional Baltic resort of Travemünde. Enjoy the maritime atmosphere, the fresh sea air and the lovely promenade along the coast. You then explore the old town on foot, discovering Lübeck, the 'Queen of the Hanseatic League', with its magnificent brick buildings, historic lanes and impressive sights. Return to Hamburg and free evening.
Day 4: Hamburg & Concert
Start the day with a leisurely breakfast and look forward to the grand concert at the Elbphilharmonie. Concert begins at 11.00 am. This is followed by a shared lunch. Then free time.
Day 5: Hamburg – Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
You will stay at the exclusive 5* Hotel The Westin, right in the Elbphilharmonie. This lifestyle hotel offers a large spa area with an indoor pool, a restaurant and a panoramic bar with views over the harbour.
