Kvarner Bay & the island world of Croatia
Krk, Losinj, Cres and Rab: four islands with very different characters. On this coach tour, enjoy the fascinating variety of the Croatian island world and experience the unique magic of water, stone and sea.
Day 1: Switzerland - Krk Island
Journey via Milan and Verona to the island of Krk. Our hotel lies directly on the sea on the picturesque island of Krk. Croatia has over 1,200 islands, of which only around 67 are inhabited. The coming days are all about island hopping.
The last boarding point in Switzerland is Lucerne, Inseli coach stop, at 08:10.
Day 2: Cres Island - Losinj Island
Today we travel by ferry to the island of Cres. Largely unspoilt nature gives this island its charm: stone landscapes with fragrant sage bushes and, right in the middle, the beautiful freshwater lake “Vransko jezero". It is separated from the island of Mali Lošinj by a canal only 9 m wide near the village of Osor.
Day 3: Plitvice Lakes National Park
(Optional excursion) Today you have the opportunity to visit Croatia's best-known natural attraction. A unique natural spectacle awaits you. Marvel at more than a dozen turquoise lakes that are at once spectacular, impressive and restful. National Geographic included the park in its top 20 of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world.
Day 4: Rab Island
Today we visit Rab Island, which boasts an astonishing variety of landscapes. The four striking church towers are the landmark of the old town, which is among the most beautiful on the entire Adriatic coast. (Optional excursion) To finish, we drive to a konoba for a traditional local dinner.
Day 5: Krk Island tour
The island tour begins with a visit to the town of Krk, with its famous cathedral within the town walls. In the picturesque village of Vrbnik, a wine and ham tasting in one of the authentic wine cellars awaits us. Perched high on the hillside above the sea, Vrbnik is also known for one of the finest Croatian wines. This is followed by a boat trip to the monastery island of Kosljun with its Franciscan monastery.
Day 6: Krk Island - Switzerland
Return journey via Trieste, Venice and Milan to Switzerland.
You will stay for 5 nights at the popular 3* Hotel Magal by Aminess (official national category) in the former fishing village of Njivice on the island of Krk. The hotel is surrounded by a picturesque oak forest and lies only 150 m from the sea. All rooms have air conditioning, bath or shower/WC, Wi-Fi, satellite TV and
telephone. Equivalent hotel if unavailable.
