Pearls of the Mediterranean
Come aboard the state-of-the-art MSC World Europa, one of the newest and most innovative cruise ships in the fleet. On this varied Mediterranean voyage, discover the cultural treasures of Italy, the Mediterranean flair of Spain and the Provençal joie de vivre of southern France.
Travel to Genoa. In Genoa you will check into your cabin and can explore the ship. At 18.00h the call goes out of "Cast off!" and the ship sets sail.
La Spezia is the gateway to the famous villages of the Cinque Terre and enchants with its picturesque setting between the sea and green hills. The lively port city invites you to linger with its pleasant waterfront promenade, cosy cafés and Italian flair. (Arrival 07.00 h / Departure 18.00 h)
From the old port of Civitavecchia, you reach the heart of Roman and Etruscan civilisation.
(Arrival 07.00 h / Departure 19.00 h)
Take some time out and relax in the MSC Aurea Spa, or enjoy an Aperol Spritz on the outer deck with a wonderful view of the sea. Every evening, spectacular shows await you in the theatre: musicals, comedy, acrobats, games and much more.
Palma de Mallorca combines Mediterranean joie de vivre, historic sights and modern city life. The island capital's landmark is the imposing cathedral La Seu, which rises majestically above the harbour and, together with the charming old town, invites exploration. (Arrival 09.00 h / Departure 21.00 h)
One of Barcelona's highlights is the monumental Sagrada Família church, located in the l'Eixample district. Construction of the church has been ongoing for over 140 years. Another "must see" is Park Güell, the city's most famous park. It is adorned with thousands of mosaic tiles. (Arrival 08.00 h / Departure 17.00 h)
To get a comprehensive impression of the beauty of Marseille's old town, we recommend a detour to Rue du Panier, just off the eastern side of the Vieux Port. Green plants, antique shop signs and wonderful restaurants make the old town what it is. Equally lovely is the "Vieux Port", meaning the Old Port of Marseille. It is the heart of the city, and along the harbour wall there are many cafés and bars. Try the delicious specialities of France such as sweet crêpes, a filled baguette or fresh seafood. Near the Old Port lie Marseille's busy shopping streets. Stroll through the lanes and enjoy the French flair. (Arrival 09.00 h / Departure 19.00 h)
In the morning you will reach the Italian city of Genoa once again. Return journey to Switzerland.
