Carmen at the Bavarian State Opera
Experience Munich in spring and a glittering evening at the Bavarian State Opera. In Bizet's 'Carmen', the acclaimed mezzo-soprano Maria Barakova takes the title role, alongside the French star tenor Benjamin Bernheim as Don José. Enjoy superb operatic artistry while discovering Munich's magnificent architecture, vibrant culture and distinctly Bavarian way of life.
Day 1: Switzerland – Munich
Travel via Memmingen to Munich. Arrival early afternoon. Your excellent hotel is in the heart of Munich’s old town. Enjoy the free afternoon in the Bavarian capital and stroll through its beautiful squares. Dinner together at a selected restaurant.
Day 2: Munich & the Opera
Discover the charm of the former royal residence city and let the city tour enchant you with its many sights. A special guided tour of the opera house gives you a behind-the-scenes look. You will learn a great deal about the artistic daily life of the opera house (subject to the rehearsal schedule). Before the performance you will be treated to delicacies from the kitchen and cellar. The performance begins at 19.00.
Day 3: Munich – Switzerland
At 11.00 the return journey to Switzerland begins. Free lunch stop in the lakeside port town of Lindau on Lake Constance.
You stay at the 4* Superior Hotel Platzl in the heart of Munich. The opera house is just a two-minute walk away.
