Art and cuisine, music and theatre: Florence offers a wealth of beauty in every season. At the turn of the year, the city takes on a very special magic, festively illuminated, with a lively atmosphere and mild winter weather. From your hotel in the heart of the old town, you enjoy a breathtaking view of the Duomo.
Day 1: Switzerland - Florence
Travel via Bologna to Florence, where you will check into your rooms at the 4* Hotel Baglioni, just a few steps from the cathedral. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Florence & Opera
The cathedral of Florence dominates the cityscape and, together with the bell tower and the Baptistery, forms one of the most magnificent works of art in the world. The strength and beauty of the city, and the pride and resilience of the Florentines, are embodied in a unique way in the Palazzo Vecchio. With a local guide, you will visit the most interesting sights of the old town. In the church of Santa Croce you will see, among other things, the world-famous frescoes by Giotto. Enjoy the free afternoon before being welcomed to the opera aperitif with delicacies from the kitchen and cellar. Afterwards, you attend the performance.
Day 3: Florence & the Uffizi
After breakfast we drive to Piazzale Michelangelo, arguably the most beautiful viewpoint over Florence. From here you enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city's rooftops, the cathedral, the Arno and the gentle hills of Tuscany. After lunch you visit the Uffizi, one of the most important art collections in the world. It displays not only Florentine and Italian works of art but also a large number of foreign paintings and valuable ancient sculptures. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. In the evening, we conclude the trip with an atmospheric New Year's Eve dinner.
Day 4: Florence - Switzerland
You return to Switzerland with many beautiful memories.
You stay at the attractive 4* Grand Hotel Baglioni in the heart of Florence. The Central Market and the cathedral are a 5-minute walk away.
