Opera Maria Stuarda
Munich combines great operatic art with royal history and Bavarian joie de vivre. As part of the Munich Opera Festival, you will experience Donizetti's masterpiece Maria Stuarda at the Bavarian State Opera. A city tour, a visit to the magnificent Residenz and plenty of time for your own discoveries complete this special cultural trip. You will stay at the traditional 5-star Hotel Bayerischer Hof in the heart of Munich.
Day 1: Switzerland – Munich
A comfortable journey to Munich in the Car Rouge, with 2+1 seating. On arrival, you will check into your room at the renowned Hotel Bayerischer Hof, which, with its central location and time-honoured elegance, ranks among the city's finest addresses. In the evening, enjoy a shared dinner at the hotel and get into the spirit of the cultural days ahead.
Day 2: Munich & opera
On a city tour and a guided walk, you will get to know the main sights of the Bavarian capital. The afternoon is at your leisure for your own activities. In the early evening, an opera aperitif will prepare you for the musical highlight of the trip. You will then attend Gaetano Donizetti's ‘Maria Stuarda’ at the Bavarian State Opera, one of the great masterpieces of Italian bel canto.
Day 3: Munich & opera (optional)
In the morning, you visit the Munich Residenz, for centuries the seat of the Bavarian dukes, electors and kings. On a guided tour, you will discover the magnificent. The afternoon is yours. Optionally, you can attend Richard Strauss's ‘Ariadne auf Naxos’ at the Gärtnerplatztheater in the evening.
Day 4: Munich – Switzerland
After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Munich. With many musical and cultural impressions, you set off on the comfortable return journey to Switzerland.
The time-honoured 5-star Hotel Bayerischer Hof is one of Munich's most renowned addresses. It is centrally located in the Old Town, just a few steps from the Residenz and the Bavarian State Opera.
