In the afternoon you arrive in Manila, where Marisa and Claudio will already be waiting for you. Together you travel to the centrally located hotel in Makati, the modern business and lifestyle district of the Philippine capital. Take a leisurely stroll through the lively neighbourhood and get a first impression of urban life in Manila.
Flight to Puerto Princesa, the capital of Palawan. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the popular seafood restaurant KaLui, whose artful décor and special atmosphere make for a true feast for the senses.
On a city tour, you explore the charming capital, Puerto Princesa, and gain fascinating insights into the island’s nature and culture at the Palawan Museum and a butterfly farm. You then visit the extraordinary Iwahig Prison, a ‘prison without walls’, where a guided tour and a traditional dance performance reveal the unique history of this place. After dinner, a magical end to the day awaits: a boat trip on the Iwahig River, where thousands of fireflies light up the night.
At Marisa and Claudio’s home, you take a very personal look behind the scenes of life on Palawan, and behind the hard shell of the coconut. You learn fascinating facts about this versatile stone fruit and experience genuine hospitality. Afterwards, you continue to Sabang, where an authentic Vietnamese lunch awaits along the way. After checking in at the hotel, there is time to let your soul unwind on the idyllic beach.
The Underground River of Puerto Princesa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is regarded as one of the new natural wonders of our planet. On a guided paddling tour, you glide through a mysterious limestone cave system filled with bizarre rock formations, tropical echoes and the flutter of countless bats. A fascinating natural experience that will stay with you for a long time.
In the morning, you enjoy a relaxed paddling tour through the enchanting mangrove forests of Sabang, discovering the unique flora and fauna of this sensitive ecosystem. The journey then continues along the coast to Port Barton, with a delicious lunch at the stylish Hotel Astoria on the way. After checking in, you have time to explore the charming fishing village and its idyllic beach at your own pace. In the evening, round off the day with an atmospheric dinner in a local restaurant.
Today the journey takes you to Taytay, once the capital of Palawan and known for its historic heritage. There you visit the imposing Spanish Fort Santa Isabel, which towers majestically above the bay. After lunch in a local restaurant, you continue to El Nido. Explore the lively coastal town with its colourful lanes and relaxed atmosphere, before ending the evening at the popular El Nido Boutique Artcafe, run by a Swiss woman and valued for its creative cuisine and laid-back ambience.
Island hopping in El Nido takes you through the spectacular Bacuit Bay, a true natural paradise of turquoise lagoons, hidden coves and striking limestone cliffs. A day full of breathtaking views, crystal-clear water and unforgettable island moments awaits you.
