On this coach tour, you will enjoy the solitude of the moorlands, gentle hills and one of Europe's most beautiful coastlines. You will marvel at the stone circle of Stonehenge, soak up the charm of historic English towns and admire proud Gothic cathedrals. Magnificent palaces, idyllic villages and enchanting landscape gardens also await you during your holiday.

Day 1: Switzerland - London - Salisbury

Flight from Zurich to London and transfer to Salisbury, where you will stay at the romantic Hotel Legacy Rose and Crown. This historic inn dates from the 13th century and enchants guests with views of the River Avon and the cathedral.

Day 2: Salisbury - Stonehenge

In Salisbury you will visit the magnificent cathedral, a masterpiece of English Gothic architecture. Breamore House is one of the most important Elizabethan country houses in the country. As a family home that is still lived in today, it offers a special insight into the traditions and way of life of the English landed gentry. Continue to the mysterious, 5,000-year-old stone circle of Stonehenge. Its basic layout consists of an outer ring and an inner horseshoe of sandstone blocks.

Day 3: Stourhead - Cornwall

At Stourhead you will stroll through the highlight of British garden design. In 1720, the banker Henry Hoare had a lake landscape with temples and grottoes in the classical style built around a pond beside his country house. Stourhead is considered the most famous example of "painted" landscapes. Via Exeter, whose skyline you will see, you reach the wild and romantic Dartmoor National Park. Overnight stay in St Austell, in the heart of Cornwall. Several scenes from the Pilcher films have been shot at The Cornwall Hotel.

Day 4: Cornwall - Land's End

(Optional excursion) With your tour guide, travel to England's most westerly point, Land's End. Cornwall is typical for its romantic coastal towns, small farms, narrow lanes, whitewashed cottages, and high moors and hills. St Ives was once a sleepy fishing village with colourful houses, until painters and sculptors arrived attracted by its intense light. Rosamunde Pilcher spent her childhood here.

Day 5: Cornwall - Bristol

Together with your tour guide, you will once again follow in the footsteps of Rosamunde Pilcher and visit Prideaux Place, a country house that has been home to the Prideaux-Brune family for 400 years. It is often used as a film set and invites you to enjoy a traditional "cream tea" with scones and strawberry jam. In Clovelly, the former pirate haven, you will feel as though you are on the "Coast of Dreams" and walk down the 120 metres to the picturesque, car-free fishing village. In the evening you will arrive in Bristol.

Day 6: Bath - London - Switzerland

A short drive to Bath for a guided city walk. Not to be missed are the Royal Crescent, the Circus, the Assembly Rooms, the Royal Theatre and much more. Transfer to London and return flight to Switzerland.

You will stay in the heart of Cornwall at the elegant 4* The Cornwall Hotel (official national rating) in St Austell. This former country house set in extensive grounds offers modern rooms and an indoor swimming pool. In Salisbury you will stay at the charming 4* Hotel Legacy Rose and Crown. Hotels of equal standard may be used if the above are unavailable.
