Festive days in the heart of Swabia
Experience Advent at its most atmospheric! Look forward to festively decorated old towns, traditional Christmas markets and Swabian hospitality. The scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds, lovingly decorated lanes and a contemplative winter atmosphere make this journey a special experience in the run-up to Christmas.
Day 1: Switzerland - Reutlingen
Journey to Reutlingen and your hotel. This charming town at the foot of the Swabian Alb is especially delightful in Advent, with festively decorated lanes, cosy cafés and a Christmassy atmosphere. Use the time for a first independent stroll through the historic old town and a visit to the atmospheric Christmas market.
Day 2: Reutlingen - Tübingen
After breakfast, your tour guide will meet you for a city tour of Reutlingen. This former free imperial city impresses with its lovingly restored half-timbered houses and winding lanes. You then continue to Tübingen. On a guided walk, you will discover this romantic university town with its historic market square, idyllic banks of the Neckar and the imposing collegiate church. At Christmas time, festively decorated squares and small Christmas stalls create an especially atmospheric setting.
In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Look forward to a shared dinner and a relaxed end to the day. Is “dr Boom” already decorated for the festive season?
Day 3: Stuttgart
You travel to the lively Swabian metropolis of Stuttgart. A sightseeing drive followed by a walk through the historic city centre reveals the many facets of the capital of Baden-Württemberg, from impressive architecture and traditional squares to the festively decorated shopping streets. The famous Stuttgart Christmas market, with its lovingly decorated stall roofs, adds to the especially atmospheric setting. Afterwards, you have time to explore the city on your own, stroll through the Christmas-lit lanes or enjoy a mulled wine at your leisure. In the evening, return to the hotel for a shared dinner.
Day 4: Reutlingen - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland. On the way, you will stop in Freudenstadt. This Black Forest town impresses with its spacious market square, its distinctive arcades and its cosy atmosphere.
The 4* City Hotel Fortuna (official national rating) is centrally located in Reutlingen, at the foot of the Swabian Alb. The comfortably furnished rooms have a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, TV, Wi-Fi and, in some cases, air conditioning. The hotel also offers a restaurant, a bar and a generous wellness area with an indoor pool, sauna and fitness room. Equivalent hotel if unavailable.
