An Discovery Journey for Connoisseurs and Enthusiasts, from West to East
The west coast and the archipelago are fringed with fishing villages, sandy beaches and pink granite cliffs. The Stockholm archipelago, with its 30,000 islands, stretches out as far as the eye can see. In between, linking them, lie the Göta Canal and the metropolis of Stockholm.
Day 1: Switzerland - Hanover
Journey via Frankfurt to Hanover.
The last pick-up point in Switzerland is Basel, Meret Oppenheim-Strasse, at 09:10.
Day 2: Hamburg - Kiel
Drive for a city sightseeing tour of Hamburg. Embark on a ferry in Kiel.
Day 3: Gothenburg - Skerry tour
Guided city tour of Gothenburg. In the afternoon you cruise on board the M/S St. Erik to the Älvsborg Fortress. On the way you pass the skerry islands of Styrsö and Donsö. Dinner in Gothenburg.
Day 4: Skerries - Fiskebäckskil
You explore the northern skerries with the island of Tjörn, characterised by picturesque coastlines and rolling landscapes. Via the island of Orust you continue to the island of Skaftö with the idyllic fishing village of Fiskebäckskil.
Day 5: Göta Canal - Stockholm
On the way to Stockholm you cover a stretch by boat (optional) on the Göta Canal with its numerous locks, which links the west coast with the east coast.
Day 6: Stockholm - Cruise
City tour of Stockholm. Afternoon at leisure. In the evening you embark on the M/S Viking Glory for a cruise right through the Stockholm archipelago. A 23-hour sea voyage to the Åland Islands, with breathtaking landscapes and magnificent panoramas, awaits you.
Day 7: Åland - Skerries - Nyköping
Take a look at the harbour town of Mariehamn before the ship sets off for Stockholm. Enjoy the return journey through the famous skerries. Coach journey from Stockholm to the charming little town of Nyköping.
Day 8: Nyköping - Malmö
Travel past Lake Vättern to southern Sweden. Embark on the Finnlines ferry.
Day 9: Travemünde - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
