Day 1: Switzerland - Malaga

Individual check-in at a SWISS counter. Comfortable direct flight with SWISS from Zurich to Málaga, where, after passport control, you will be met at the airport by our coach driver/tour guide and the Deluxe coach. In the evening a welcome dinner takes place.

Day 2: Ronda and El Tajo

Sightseeing in Ronda. Ronda is one of the "White Villages", located in the heart of the rugged, barely developed Andalusia. This is the name given to the countless small villages of the Andalusian hinterland, whose gleaming white façades shine down from the hilltops or nestle against the mountainsides. Vast latifundios line your route, and the houses are whitewashed again and again by their residents. Olive and almond groves shape the Andalusian landscape. The lively town of Ronda, with around 30,000 inhabitants, borders steep rock faces 120 m high. A deep gorge about 90 m wide separates the old town from the new town. Most of the historically significant buildings in the old town show a blend of African and Spanish traditions. Ronda has always attracted artists. Writers such as James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway and Max Frisch have set their works in Ronda. The walls dating from the Moorish era served as the backdrop for large parts of the film adaptation of Bizet's Carmen. The afternoon is at leisure in Málaga.

Day 3: Granada - Valencia

Guided tour of Granada. The proud Moorish-Oriental Alhambra Palace (UNESCO), with its playful inner courtyards and the flowering Generalife gardens, presents itself like a tale from the Arabian Nights. The well-kept garden, with ponds, splashing fountains, a cypress avenue, orange trees, long hedges and flower beds, is an oasis of calm. Onward journey to Valencia afterwards.

Day 4: Valencia

On the Spanish Mediterranean coast, the lively city of Valencia awaits you, with more than 2,000 years of history. Historic buildings such as the impressive cathedral and the Lonja de la Seda stand in fascinating contrast to the modern "Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias". On a guided city tour you will discover the most important sights and learn interesting facts about the history and culture of this versatile Mediterranean metropolis. Overnight stay in Valencia.

Day 5: Tarragona - Barcelona

On the sunny Costa Dorada, Tarragona awaits you, one of the most historic cities in Spain. The former Roman provincial capital "Tarraco" impresses with significant ancient monuments, including the well-preserved amphitheatre right by the sea and the mighty city walls, which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The charming old town, with its narrow lanes, lively squares and imposing cathedral, gives Tarragona a special flair and combines Roman heritage with Mediterranean joie de vivre in a unique way. Onward journey to Barcelona afterwards; the day ends with a shared tapas evening.

Day 6: Barcelona

Barcelona captivates with a unique mix of history, modern architecture and Mediterranean lifestyle. Magnificent boulevards, historic squares and the works of Antoni Gaudí shape the cityscape of this Catalan metropolis. On a guided city tour you will discover Barcelona's most important sights. The highlight is a visit to the world-famous Sagrada Família, whose impressive architecture you can admire up close with included admission.

Day 7: Girona - Béziers

Girona and Béziers combine history and Mediterranean lifestyle in impressive fashion. In Girona you will be greeted by the colourful houses along the River Onyar, the imposing cathedral and the winding lanes of the well-preserved old town. Onward to Béziers, one of the oldest towns in France, picturesquely set above the River Orb. The mighty Saint-Nazaire Cathedral and the charming old town give the town its distinctive southern French character.

Day 8: Carcassonne

Carcassonne offers one of the most impressive fortified towns in Europe. The medieval Cité, with its mighty double walls, 52 towers and winding lanes, seems to have stepped out of a fairy tale and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On a guided tour you will discover the impressive fortifications and the Basilica of Saint-Nazaire, and learn fascinating details about the eventful history of this unique town in southern France.

Day 9: Pont du Gard - Avignon

The impressive Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct from the 1st century, is one of the most important ancient monuments in France and forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mighty structure spans the River Gardon majestically and bears witness to the remarkable engineering skill of the Romans. Afterwards you reach Avignon, the historic papal city on the Rhône. The imposing Papal Palace and the famous Pont Saint-Bénézet shape the cityscape. On an atmospheric evening stroll you will discover the charming old town and enjoy the special flair of Provence in the evening hours.

Day 10: Provence and Wine

An excursion takes you to picturesque Provence, characterised by gentle hills, vineyards and charming villages with winding lanes and typical southern French flair. The highlight is a wine tasting in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where you will get to know and enjoy the fine wines of this renowned wine region.

Day 11: Annecy - Switzerland

The return journey to Switzerland runs through the picturesque Rhône Valley and impressive Alpine scenery. On the way you stop in the charming town of Annecy. With its idyllic old town, romantic canals and magnificent position on the lake of the same name, Annecy is rightly called the "Venice of the Alps". Afterwards, journey home to Switzerland.
