Trip details
Day 1: Switzerland - Amsterdam
Journey from Switzerland to the Dutch capital. After arriving at the hotel, a first dinner together awaits you.
Day 2: Amsterdam
On a city tour by coach, you will discover Amsterdam beyond the well-known postcard views: modern architecture, innovative residential districts and the historic Rembrandt windmill. In the afternoon, the Anne Frank House is on the programme — the hidden rear annex where the Jewish girl lived with her family for almost two years still moves every visitor deeply today.
Day 3: Amsterdam
A canal cruise takes you through the city's historic network of waterways, past narrow gabled houses and old bridges. In the afternoon, the Rijksmuseum opens its doors: over 8,000 exhibits tell of the golden age of Dutch painting — including Rembrandt's Night Watch and Vermeer's masterpieces. Free time to stroll through the lanes or enjoy a coffee by the canal rounds off the day.
Day 4: Zaanse Schans - Volendam - Marken
A varied day trip takes you into the countryside. In Zaanse Schans, genuine windmills still turn above green meadows, and charming wooden houses bear witness to past centuries. In Volendam you will visit a cheese dairy with a tasting and see how the typical clogs are made in a clog workshop. Finally, Marken awaits — a picturesque peninsula with colourful wooden houses, which looks especially enchanting in the winter light. Dinner is served at the hotel.
Day 5: Amsterdam - Switzerland
After breakfast, return journey to Switzerland.
The 4* Hotel Mijdrecht Marickenland is peacefully set amid greenery, just a short drive from the centre of Amsterdam. The rooms are comfortably furnished and offer all the amenities you need for a restful night after eventful days in the city. A hotel of equal standard will be provided if unavailable.
