CabriO Ride

Enjoy a relaxing boat trip on Lake Lucerne from Lucerne to Stansstad, taking in the magnificent scenery as it drifts past.

Surrounded by well-known excursion mountains, Lake Lucerne is the most diverse lake in the country. It is slightly reminiscent of a fjord landscape, yet it is characterised by a mild lake climate.

At Stansstad you disembark and continue by coach to the valley station of the Stanserhorn cable railway.

First you travel part of the way on the historic funicular, then you rise to new heights in the "open-air CabriO cable car". The CabriO is the first cable car in the world with an open upper deck and an absolute novelty in cable car technology.

The eventful ride on the funicular dating from 1893 and the world-first CabriO up the Stanserhorn is like a journey through the history of cable cars.

In the Rondorama mountain restaurant you will enjoy a typical Swiss lunch. The restaurant makes one full rotation on its own axis in 43 minutes, inviting you on a panoramic tour. The view of 100 km of the Alpine chain and no fewer than 10 Swiss lakes will make every heart beat faster.

After lunch, an award-winning ranger will guide you around the summit in about an hour.

He will gladly show you where the eagle soars, where the loveliest flowers grow, and tell you fascinating anecdotes from the history of the Stanserhorn.

The cable car then takes you back down to the valley station and you begin your journey home.
