Trip details
Day 1: Switzerland - Rothenburg
You travel via Ulm to Rothenburg, arriving at around 14:30. Discover the enchanting little medieval old town with its many winding alleys and small squares lined with half-timbered houses. The Reiterlesmarkt is one of the most charming Christmas markets in the country, with a centuries-old tradition. Taken from Germanic legend, the "Reiterle" is, like Father Christmas, a bringer of good luck who delights everyone with his visit.
(Optional) Perhaps you would like to join the Rothenburg night watchman on his evening round of the medieval town at around 21:00? Listening to his stories, you can end your evening in an entertaining way.
Day 2: Rothenburg
(Optional) Excursion to the Christmas market in Würzburg. Experience one of the most atmospheric Christmas markets in Germany. With around 100 stalls, the wide range of goods offered by the traders blends into the historic setting of the Falkenhaus and the Gothic Marienkapelle.
Day 3: Rothenburg - Switzerland
In the morning you still have time for shopping or individual sightseeing. The winding lanes and squares around the town hall, its vaults and the market square are lined with stalls offering everything your heart and palate could desire: traditional German Christmas biscuits, handcrafted treasures as souvenirs or gifts. At 13:00 we begin the journey back to Switzerland and the boarding points.
The Christmas market
The small but charming "Reiterlesmarkt" creates a festive atmosphere with Christmas decorations, baked goods, mulled wine and pottery. On Fridays and Saturdays, visitors to the Reiterlesmarkt can enjoy the magnificent view from the town hall tower until 20:00.
