Kassel in the Spirit of International Art
Saxony is one of Germany's most fascinating cultural landscapes, combining contrasts, history and creative diversity. Between magnificent palaces, lively cities and idyllic countryside, we discover a region where tradition and the present come together in perfect harmony. Our journey begins in Dresden, a city with Baroque architecture, a striking Elbe riverside and a rich cultural life.
Day 1: Switzerland - Kassel
Travel to Kassel, the documenta city with an international reputation and a diverse landscape of museums and culture.
Day 2: documenta 16
After breakfast, visit documenta 16 and immerse yourself in an exhibition that turns Kassel, for a short time, into a vibrant space of ideas for contemporary art. Among installations, pictorial worlds, performances and media works, new perspectives open up on themes that move us today, sometimes poetic and quiet, sometimes surprising and provocative. Many works unfold in dialogue with their respective locations and invite you to look more closely, ask questions and experience art as a stimulus for exchange and encounter. A full day has been set aside for today, so you can explore the main exhibition venues at your leisure and pick out your personal highlights. The evening is yours to spend on an independent dinner.
Day 3: Edersee & Schloss Waldeck
Today you embark on a varied excursion to the picturesque Edersee, which winds for around 27 kilometres through the attractive landscape of northern Hesse. On a relaxing boat trip, you will enjoy magnificent views of the lake and its wooded shores. Afterwards, you travel up to Schloss Waldeck. From the viewing terrace, you will be treated to an impressive panoramic view over the Edersee and the imposing dam wall. After an eventful day amid beautiful nature, you return to Kassel, where you will have time for a free dinner.
Day 4: Kassel - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
The modern 4* pentahotel Kassel is located in the Wilhelmshöhe district, just a few minutes' walk from the ICE station. The heart of the hotel is the cosy Pentalounge with restaurant and bar, which invites you to relax. The comfortable rooms feature a bathroom or shower/WC, hairdryer, TV and free Wi-Fi. A fitness area completes the facilities. An equivalent hotel will be provided if the original is unavailable.
