Trip details

Day 1: Switzerland - Cologne

Coach transfer to Cologne. From 16.00, you can take possession of your cabin and enjoy your first feeling of life on board. At the welcome cocktail, you will meet the crew and fellow travellers before being treated to a culinary welcome dinner. At 20.00, the MS ELEGANT leaves the city and sets course for the Moselle.

Day 2: Cochem

At midday, you reach Cochem, one of the most picturesque wine villages on the Moselle. The Reichsburg castle towers high above the town, while narrow lanes, lovingly restored half-timbered houses and the riverside promenade create a unique atmosphere below. (Optional) Explore Cochem on a classic walking tour and discover the characteristic, fruity Moselle wines during a wine tasting. In the evening, there is time to enjoy the magic of the Moselle in peace on board before the ship sets off later that evening.

Day 3: Koblenz

Early in the morning, you reach Koblenz, where the Rhine and Moselle meet at the Deutsches Eck. The city is one of the oldest in Germany and has around 2,000 years of history, from Roman roots through medieval lanes to Prussian architecture. (Optional) On the city walk, you will discover historic squares, elegant courtyards and the riverside promenade.

Day 4: Upper Middle Rhine Valley & Rüdesheim

In the morning, enjoy a spectacular panoramic cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Passing numerous castles, vine-clad slopes and legendary sites, you glide towards the famous Loreley rock, which has fascinated travellers for centuries. At midday, you reach Rüdesheim, one of the most important wine centres on the Rhine. (Optional) On the town walk, you will discover historic wine estates and the famous Drosselgasse. Afterwards, enjoy a ride on the Winzerexpress.

Day 5: Mannheim & Heidelberg

In the morning, the MS ELEGANT docks in Mannheim. (Optional) From here, you can take an excursion to the romantic city of Heidelberg, famous for its picturesque old town, Germany's oldest university and Heidelberg Castle, perched above the Neckar, a jewel of the Renaissance and one of the most visited sites in the country.

In the afternoon, you reach Speyer, one of the oldest cities in Germany. The imposing Imperial Cathedral of Speyer (UNESCO World Heritage) dominates the cityscape. You have time to explore Speyer at your own pace, whether that is the cosy old town, the Technik Museum or the picturesque Maximilianstrasse.

Day 6: Strasbourg

Today your ship is berthed in Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace and home to numerous European institutions. (Optional) In the morning, you have the opportunity to discover the city on a boat tour.
