Trip details
Day 1: Switzerland - Rome
Journey to Rome.
Day 2: Ancient Rome
Rome is really an open-air museum. You begin your "tour of antiquity" on Capitoline Hill with a wonderful view over the Roman Forum. Next come the Colosseum and the Via dei Fori Imperiali with the Imperial Forums. Free time in the afternoon.
Day 3: Christian Rome
(Optional) Today you follow the traces of Christian Rome with your tour guide and walk from the hotel to the Vatican with St Peter's Basilica. You will admire the largest basilica in Christendom with its precious furnishings. Visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.
Day 4: Alban Hills
(Optional) An excursion to the picturesque Alban Hills makes a charming contrast to the vibrant city life. Highlights include the idyllic Lake Albano and Castel Gandolfo, the Pope's summer residence. The day ends with a wine tasting in Frascati, where you can enjoy regional wines and a light lunch with a magnificent view.
Day 5: Rome - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
The 4* Ele Green Park Hotel (official national category) is peacefully located in the green Aurelio district. Surrounded by a private park, it offers a relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The 153 classically elegant rooms feature air conditioning, minibar, safe, desk, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and a bathroom with shower or bathtub, bidet and hairdryer. Some rooms also have a balcony or terrace. The hotel's own restaurant "Oasis" serves Roman and international specialities with views of the garden. A bar with a terrace invites you to linger.
