Day 1: Switzerland - Venice
Journey past Milan to Venice. You will reach your hotel comfortably by water taxi. Dinner together in the selected
Hotel Indigo Venice Sant' Elena.
Day 2: Venice
Venice awaits you! Countless palaces, fascinating squares, romantic waterways and canals beckon. The day is at your leisure. Let yourself drift through narrow, picturesque lanes or enjoy a cappuccino in the legendary "Florian", the oldest café in Italy. (Optional) In the footsteps of Donna Leon. A very special city tour is available today as an option. Following Commissario Brunetti, you will discover the settings and secrets of the crime classics. From St Mark's Square on to the San Lorenzo police headquarters, where Brunetti's office is located. You will also see Campo S. Aponal, where according to Donna Leon Brunetti's home is situated, and be able to soak up the atmosphere of this place.
Day 3: Venice
Start your individual day with a wonderful breakfast and set off to explore Venice. (Optional) How about a visit to the lagoon islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello? On this full-day boat trip through the unique Venetian lagoon, you will get to know the three most important islands. Torcello, now almost uninhabited, was the centre of the earliest culture in the lagoon. Murano, by contrast, is world-famous for its glassblowing. On Burano you will then feel transported to another world, a rural fishing village of the 19th century. Its brightly coloured houses once attracted many painters. The fine bobbin lace that has been made here since the 16th century is famous throughout the world.
Day 4: Venice - Switzerland
The Venetian motoscafo water taxi takes you to Tronchetto, and from there we return to Switzerland via the Gotthard route.
You will stay for 3 nights in the selected 4* Hotel Indigo Venice Sant' Elena
(official national category), a former Venetian monastery with a well-kept garden. The rooms offer a pleasant view of the inner garden or of life in the quiet streets of the neighbourhood. All rooms reflect an original blend of modern design and attractive creativity. An equivalent hotel will be used if this one is unavailable.
