Trip details

Day 1: Switzerland - Bassano

Journey through the Vinschgau (Val Venosta) to Bassano del Grappa in the Veneto region.

Day 2: Asolo

Today's walk takes you to the town of Asolo, one of the most beautiful places in Italy (I Borghi più belli d'Italia). Thanks to their good location and favourable climate, the hills of Asolo were already settled by the Veneti in the 7th and 6th centuries BC. Over the years, Asolo became a destination for poets and writers, artists and travellers who found inspiration and harmony there.

From Ca' Vescovo, a footpath and in places minor roads lead first to the Rocca di Asolo fortress, a complex built as an irregular quadrangle that dominates Asolo's old town. After visiting the fortress, you return to Bassano by coach. Here a grappa tasting awaits you at a distillery in the old town. (Walking time approx. 3 hrs / altitude difference: approx. 210 m / difficulty: easy)

Day 3: The Prosecco Circular Trail

Your walk begins in the Valdobbiadene prosecco region on the Anello del Prosecco circular trail. The route leads through the villages of San Pietro di Barbozza, Santo Stefano and Saccol, which belong to Valdobbiadene and all look back on a long winemaking tradition. You will visit a winery, where you will learn interesting facts about wine production and taste Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG with various regional products. (Walking time approx. 2.5 hrs / altitude difference: approx. 400 m / difficulty: easy to moderate)

Day 4: Walking Tour of Venice

You can only discover the true magic of the city when you step away from the classic sights. Together with a local guide, you will visit the Cannaregio district with its Jewish Ghetto to get to know the city's cosmopolitan atmosphere. A stroll to the Sant'Elena gardens is also on the programme. Afterwards, it is time for the Bacari tour, an old tradition in which two Venetian osterie are visited. Over an aperitif and cicchetti (small bites), you will enjoy the intimate atmosphere. Salute! (Walking time approx. 4 hrs / altitude difference: slight / difficulty: easy)
